Job Description

Job Title: Studio Coordinator
Reports to: Director, the Studio at Living Opportunities
Department: The Studio at Living Opportunities
Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Scheduling: Full time; Scheduling will be determined by management in accordance with the needs of the position and business.

Job Summary

Provide support to artists with or without disabilities during studio hours. Manage the process for record keeping, billing, and projects. Keep studio clean and organized. Maintain inventory and order supplies. Schedule, track attendance and coordinate volunteers and artists. Assist the Director with special events as needed.

Qualifications:
Minimum education requirements are a high school diploma and the equivalent of two years of College credit or continuing education. Education requirements may be offset by significant experience in a pertinent service delivery area.

Additional qualifications:
Must satisfy all pre-employment, post-offer processes, including (but not limited to): drug test, criminal history and abuse check, and reference checks, and be physically able to perform all job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must be eligible for driving agency vehicles as acceptable to agency insurance carrier. Must be able to complete CPR & First Aid, Abuse, and other required trainings within 90 days of employment and maintain current certification thereafter.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically necessary to successfully complete the related duties of this position:

Knowledge:
English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Computer Skills – Ability to use a Windows PC and Apple iPads, Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Drive. Understanding of social media platforms used by the Studio.

Skills:
Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Speaking — Talking to others to convey information effectively.
Writing — Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Reading Comprehension – Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
Time Management – Able to self-regulate regarding tasks and deadlines to ensure tasks are completed on time, prioritizing work schedule with multiple tasks and varied deadlines.
Organization – Ability to establish and maintain accurate and effective record keeping and information systems and accurate records of assigned activities and operations.
Judgment – Ability to analyze and make decisions and judgments relating to area of responsibility. Ability to discern when further research or follow-up is needed.

Abilities:
Oral Expression — The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. Writing so others will understand.
Written Comprehension – The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

Job Duties

  • - Facilitate and enhance a studio experience that is highly integrated within the art community;

  • - Participate in activities and special events connected with the studio;

  • - Keep organized and up to date records for studio happenings;

  • - Maintain a professional and respectful environment during class times;

  • - Organize and maintain office and art storage;

  • - Encourage community involvement by sharing information with visitors;

  • - Marketing support as needed, maintain social media presence for Studio;

  • - Purchases art and event supplies; check shipments, and deliveries against invoices and purchase orders; researches best buys on purchase;

  • - Perform art sale transactions;

  • - Keep accurate records of attendance by studio artists and prepare records for billing purpose;

  • - Maintain plans or protocols for individuals receiving support;

  • - Keep studio supplies up to date and in good working order;

  • - Assist Studio Director in maintaining inventory of art;

  • - Must be able to evacuate the premises without assistance in the event of an emergency and assist others to do so;

  • - Must have a demonstrated ability to work as a team member and willing to work a variety of days and hours;

Working Environment and Conditions
The work environment varies in this position. Roughly 90% of the employee’s time will be spent working indoors. Occasionally employees in this position can expect to work outdoors. Indoor work may include a typical studio setting, temperature controlled with typical office equipment. Employees working in this position may be subjected to extreme temperatures when work outdoors is required in the winter and summer months.

Sitting, bending, twisting, – Frequent in this position (more than 50% of the time)
Lifting up to 25 pounds – Occasional in this position (up to 30% of the time)
Climbing stairs – Occasional in this position (up to 30% of the time)
Computer and Keyboard use - Frequent in this position (more than 50% of the time)
Use of physical intervention training/techniques – Rare in this position (less then 5% of the time)
 

Direct reports
Responsible for support of artists and volunteers during studio sessions. No personnel supervision is exercised by this position as it relates to hiring, evaluation, and discipline.
